I got married in 1975 to Earl Beattie (3 years Mesa High and graduated Soldatna H.S., Alaska) and have two sons. I graduated from BYU with a B.S. in Geology and double minor in Physics/Chemistry.

We have lived in Ridgecrest, CA (100 miles from Death Valley), Santa Barbara and Lompoc, CA, Houston, Texas, and now Canton, Ohio. We have a house we haven't sold in Houston and 5 acres here. Until we sell the house down there I am stuck here. I have a horse, goat, chickens, turkeys, and rabbits. Farm girl.

After college I worked for Woodward-Clyde Consultants (Environmental Geotechnical Consultants) in Scottsdale. I also am an Assistant District Commissioner for Boy Scouts of America, volunteered with the B.S.A. for 21 years. Done the following in scouting: District Co-chair in training; Wood badge training and on staff; Conservation committee member; and anything else I could do to help out. You know the saying only one hour once a week. HA, HA, HA.

I hiked the Grand Canyon and found out the next day that I had a passenger along. I also do stained-glass, ceramics (throwing and sculpting) and work with pastels. I was going for a bachelors of fine arts but wanted something more stimulating. I think I over killed. I have taken math, geology and art classes every semester since I graduated. I like to learn.
