Douglas Lynn Shelley passed away December 6, 2005 after a long battle with the complications of diabetes. He was born August 18,1947, the youngest of six children to J. Edward and Fern Oliver Shelley. Doug had a lifelong love of music, starting at a very young age performing around Arizona with the "Mesa Imps". He played all sorts of instruments and passed this love of music on to his children. Doug graduated from Westwood High in 1965. After a long hiatus from formal education, Doug completed his Bachelor's Degree at NAU in 1999. He spent the next few years substitute teaching in the East Valley. Doug will always be remembered by his family and friends for his quick wit and his unending knowledge of history and world events. Doug is survived by his children: son, Eric and daughter, Amanda Shelley-Ayala (Ramon); brothers: Edward J. and Leon; sister, Karen Fulton; and his first wife and long time friend, Christina Shelley.
