Carole Darner

Carole Diane Darner, 61, was born Christmas Day, 1947, in Los Angeles, California, to Joel and Dorothy Darner. She passed away Saturday, November 21, 2009, in Mesa, Arizona. Known as Christmas Carole to those closest to her, she cherished and epitomized the nickname as evidenced in her selfless life of service to others. Growing up in Mesa, Arizona, Carole attended Mesa Public Schools, graduating from Westwood High in 1965. After graduating from Brigham Young University she returned to Mesa, teaching kindergarten at Hawthorne Elementary School then teaching homebound students before becoming media center specialist at Carson Junior High. A lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Carole was devoted both in Church capacities and in her personal life. She showered friends and family members with acts of kindness and gifts of love as a source of support and enjoyment. Carole touched the lives, enriched the minds, and warmed the hearts of all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents and one niece and is survived by siblings Patty (Gary) Robison, Joey (Susan) Darner, Cindy (Mark) Gower, Kristie (Eddy) Wittry, and Michael (Donna) Darner, as well as 16 nieces and nephews and their families.
"Carole and I had a huge crush on each other in 2nd grade at Alma School and can you believe she was also my first son's 2nd grade teacher. I also bought my first car from Darner motors, a 1965 Plymouth Satilite."
